Clyde J. Sarzin (1915-1987), New York, was an enthusiastic and creative cachet maker. Some of his designs include a thin sheet of metal affixed to the envelope. He made normal FDCs as well but is most well known for these metallic cachets as well as his space covers. Apparently the last metal cover was made in 1977. Apart from some colorful examples in the early 1960’s, Sarzin covers are mostly black-and-white with some single-coloured examples for the different Apollo missions in the late ’60s – early ’70s. Use the links below to view Sarzin space covers in my collection for each individual year.
